Heard of the famous Sungei Road Laksa before?
I didn't till I went to Bugis with daddy that day!
Sungei Road Laksa
Blk 27 Jalan Berseh,
#01-100 Jin Shui Kopitiam
9am - 6pm
(Closed: First Wed of each month)
Daddy queuing for the laksa :)
The queue getting longer and longer.
And it wasn't even lunch time rush hour!
The uncle cooking the laksa!
Notice they are still using charcoal stove?
Rare in Singapore right?
Heard from daddy that this stall used to be selling laksa on Sungei Road on a trishaw?!
Okays maybe not a trishaw, more like a "bicycle-cart".
Something like a push-cart but with a bicycle attached to it so they can cycle around?
Yay! Here comes the Laksa!
Didn't add chili to mine.
And notice there is only a spoon and nothing else?
Daddy say this is said to be the first stall that introduced eating of laksa using spoons.
So everyone there uses spoons to eat laksa ;)
It's really nice! You all should try! :)
1. It has just right the amount of coconut milk inside.
2. And the gravy wasn't too thick/thin.
3. Not too oily.
Some laksa I had before had a thick layer of oil on the gravy and I don't really like those.
4. They gave a lot of clams (I don't really like clams though - gave them to daddy)
If you tell them you don't like clams, they will add more fishcake for you.
5. It's only $2 per bowl!
Overall, the laksa was really great!
BUT the noodles serving is lesser than outside ones.
For girls I think ok (cause after you drink the gravy you will be full).
But for guys maybe must ask them to add more noodles - get the $3 bowl ;)
Let me know if you all like it too! :)
