Engaging Coesa for Our Curtains Was One of the Best Reno Decision We Made

Saturday, 18 January 2025

Buying your first home is exciting, right? Picking out paint colors, furniture, appliances... it's all a dream! But let me tell you, amidst all that excitement, there are a few hidden landmines. And one of them, surprisingly, turned out to be curtains and blinds.

My husband and I, like many new homeowners, thought choosing curtains would be a breeze. "Just pick something that matches the walls and call it a day," we thought. Oh, how wrong we were! Turns out, there's a whole world of curtain knowledge we were clueless about. Day curtains vs. night curtains? Ripple fold vs. pleated? Opacity of the curtains? It was enough to make our heads spin.

Thankfully, we stumbled upon coesa (formerly End Curtain), and they completely saved us from a potential curtain nightmare.

Here's how they turned our curtain confusion into curtain confidence:

1. Your Go-To for Curtains 101: We walked into coesa's showroom feeling totally lost. Day curtains? Night curtains? Pleated? Ripple fold? It was all Greek to me. But Jason, our curtain consultant, was super patient and explained everything, including the details between the various curtain options and different fold types in a way that even I could understand. He basically gave me a crash course in Curtain 101.

One of the toughest decision was to decide if we wanted double pleated day and night curtains or one layer of ripple fold curtains. Jason very patiently guided us through and we took his advice to have day curtains with thermal shaping for the living room and night curtains for the bedrooms. Both single layer as it gives a more minimalist look that would suit our home design and would serve the purpose they are needed for.

2. He Gets Our Style (Even When I Don't): You know how sometimes you have a vision in your head but you can't quite explain it? Yeah, that's me with interior design. But Jason just got it. He looked at our 3D mock-ups (our ID only placed the default light grey curtains in it) and instantly knew what we were going for. He even came to our house (which was basically a construction zone at that point) to assess the actual space and lighting. Talk about above and beyond!

3. The Detail Whisperer: Did you know most ceilings are not 100% straight/even? Ours was slightly slanted too and we didn't even notice it until Jason pointed it out! He's like a curtain detective, spotting all the little details that could make or break the design. He meticulously measured everything to make sure my curtains would hang perfectly, saving me from a major design fail.

4. Style That Doesn't Break the Bank: Let's be real, renovations can be expensive AF. But coesa's prices are surprisingly reasonable for the quality and service they provide. We were expecting it to cost a small fortune for custom curtains, but they were more affordable than we expected. Winning!

Coesa showed us that curtains are way more than just window coverings. They're an essential part of creating a home that's both stylish and functional. From controlling natural light to adding warmth and texture, the right curtains can transform any space. And with coesa's expert guidance, the whole process was actually stress-free and even fun.

So, if you're feeling overwhelmed by the world of curtains (like we were!), do yourself a favor and check out coesa. They'll help you find the perfect curtains for your home without the drama or the hefty price tag.
